Stock and periods

How SWM keeps each facility's stock, and how a PWM period closes the books.

Stock

SWM works out each facility's stock from its records: intake adds, segregation moves mixed waste into categories, consignments and onward movements take away; at the PWM unit receipts add, processing turns input into outputs and rejects, off-takes take them away.

Stock below zero means a record is missing or entered late, for example a consignment recorded before the intake it came from. SWM accepts it (phones may be offline) and shows it as needing attention.

PWM periods

The PWM manager finalises a period by counting what is actually in stock. SWM compares:

  • Δ1 for each category: opening + received − processed − counted now;
  • Δ2: processed − outputs − rejects − loss.

Differences must be explained before the period is locked. A locked period's records cannot change from the field app; the BDO and Block Admin see each period under Material balance.
