Blocks, GPs and facilities
How a Block is organised in SWM, and why each record belongs to a place.
- A Block has its own web address, staff, configuration and data. Nothing is shared between Blocks.
- A Block has Gram Panchayats (GPs), and each GP has numbered wards. Households, shops and complaints belong to a GP and ward.
- Facilities belong to the Block. Each SWM unit serves some GPs and sends recyclables to one PWM unit. Each facility has an operator: an SHG or the government. Work recorded at the facility is credited to it.
- Roles belong to a place: GP Officer, GP Staff and SHG Supervisor to a GP; SWM and PWM Facility Managers to a facility; BDO and Block Admin to the whole Block. A person can have several roles.
This is why you see only your own GP's complaints, or your own facility's stock: SWM shows each person the places their roles cover. See Who can do what.
